Stunning images of a porcupine’s attack on a Pit bull dog

Public Force officers rescued a dog that had been attacked by a porcupine in San Isidro de Heredia.

In the impressive images, you can see the poor animal with part of its face and one of its legs full of thorns. Officers took to the veterinary center of the National University, in La Aurora, Heredia. “There a doctor and the officers cured him.

It is already stable and will be transferred to a shelter, ”they reported. The Guanacaste Conservation Area indicated on its website that the porcupine is a nocturnal mammal that lives up in logs or hollow trees during the day and forages during the night moving over the treetops in thin branches looking for new fruits and leaves.

It is the only rodent with true thorns that we have in our country, although it also has slightly thin hairs mixing between the spines all over the body, a little light chocolate or black. The spines at the base are yellowish-white slightly connected to the body of the porcupine, and the end (tip of the spines) is black and very thin full of hooks opposite the barb, ”they said. The Conservation Area explained that it does not have the ability to throw the spines, but that they are removed from the animal’s body when a predator or other thing that bothers it makes contact with it with sufficient effort.
