No matter how old you are, we all love Disney growing up and feel old enough about it, but when you look at the cartoons of the past, there are weird and horrible things about them. New York-based artist Mike Chiechi, better known on social media as Frank’s Kid, has been a fan of monster movies, drawings, and cartoons since childhood and realized that classic cartoons are not as innocent as his. In this series of black and white horror illustrations, famous characters who keep us up at night, such as Freddy Kruger, Leatherface, and Jason Voorhees, play a special cameo in the 1930s Mickey Mouse cartoon The thing is, it’s beyond pop culture. Looks like they could be a real thing.

Well, all I can remember is watching old Disney cartoons as a kid and looking for them. Even when it was completely unintentional! Now, as an animator and horror lover, I thought it was natural to associate them with my favorite horror icons! To me, they don’t really look out of place with Mickey and Minnie!
